Crocker Cabins are in the town of Trout River in the South Sector of Gros Morne National Park.  Gros Morne is the second largest national park in Atlantic Canada and is one of the most spectacular.

Taking Route 430 at Deer Lake heading north, will bring you to Wiltondale, where you turn left onto Route 431.  This scenic drive along the south side of the Park includes such mountains as Kildevil and Picatinerife.  You will pass through the communities of Glenburnie, Birchy Head, Shoal Brook, and Winter House Brook.  These are all towns within the Park and within beautiful Bonne Bay South.  Just before the town of Woody Point, there will be a sharp left turn to continue driving on Route 431 to Trout River.  You will be astonished at the contrasting scenery on the opposite sides of the road.  The left looks barren, with rust-coloured mountains and rocks and scant foliage while on the right there is typical vegetation, tree-covered hills, and occasional glimpses of the ocean.  This short stretch of roadway between Woody Point and Trout River, 18 km long, contains the extremely rare mantle rock, peridotite, from beneath the Earth’s crust, which was instrumental in Gros Morne National Park being designated a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural World Heritage Site (UNESCO).  There are four Park hiking trails along this road.
